Overview

This position is contingent upon contract award, and customer approval of resume. The Scheduler in Seattle, WA will report to the Project Manager and provide scheduling and planning services to develop work plans and new work processes to improve work planning and coordination. Part-time and full-time candidates will be considered

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Track schedule, budget, requirements and compliance of a complex software and hardware implementation within the passenger rail industry.
  • Support technical team resources within engineering, quality assurance and subcontractors throughout the requirements generation, design, implementation and installation phases.
  • Oversee status updates from multiple subcontractor/vendor Project Managers on schedule, budget compliance and status reports.
  • Work with GBS’s Contracts department personnel to ensure contract compliance and lead the creation of change orders when project scope increases beyond original expectations.
  • Support procurement and engineering team members with the creation of Bill of Materials, tracking material delivery status and inventory.
  • Develop daily status reports on project progress for distribution to internal stakeholders and generate monthly progress reports for review with senior management.
  • In conjunction with a Project Scheduler; establish, track and update critical path scheduling and earned value management.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

  • Must have a High School diploma
  • Must have high competency level tracking project task using Primavera Project Management P6 Release 8.2 software.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years scheduling experience on complex engineering or construction projects.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of critical path method scheduling and earned value management.
  • Must have familiarity with Sound Transit

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, technical or business discipline
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or on track to obtain PMP

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, may have to occassionally work near hazardous equipment and machinery, walk on uneven ground, and exposure to noise
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, and lift intermittently. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.
  • Must be alert to equipment when in the field
