Overview

This position is contingent upon contract award, and customer approval of resume.  The 3M Program Manager Assistant in Norfolk, VA will coordinate and provide technical and functional knowledge/expertise for the development, implementation, maintenance, and usage of AIS used to support maintenance and material management

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Manage Nuclear and Non-Nuclear Alteration Programs. Document completions and schedules in the TYCOM Alteration Management System (TAMS) database, 3M tracking systems, NTIRA/SMART, and RMMCO systems as required
  • Coordinate and provide technical and functional knowledge/expertise for the development, implementation, maintenance, and usage of AIS used to support maintenance and material management.
  • Assist in the processing of Mid-Atlantic On-Site Analysis Reports (OSARs), Sail Inspections,  and other discrepancies/deficiencies as determined. Prepare the data for entry into the ship’s OMMS-NG system or the appropriate shore-based data management system
  • Schedule, coordinate, monitor, and track shipboard Gage Calibration/Field Calibration Activity Certifications for all commands as stated in the Metrology and Calibration (METCAL) Laboratory Requirements and Certification Guide.
  • Support Shipboard 3M/2M, Test Equipment, TMDE, and METCAL programs. 
  • Develop common metrics that accurately report the status of repair period indicators that work more reliably to predict the future. Design response plans to ensure that some response occurs and design follow-up to measure the improvement (or not) in the outcome as a result of the response plans. 
  • Utilize and maintain Graphical User Interface (GUI) for collecting data from maintenance departure and assessment reports.
  • Perform Review of SCLSIS Data for submarines to identify configuration records that are candidates for the removal of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information(NNPI) designation.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

 

  • Ten (10) Years of submarine experience
  • Knowledge of the COMSUBLANT maintenance and modernization programs, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), Ship’s Maintenance and Material Management (3M) System Policy (OPNAVINST 4790.4 series), Navy Modernization Programs.
  • Willing to travel to provide technical support as required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Preferred candidates will have knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills
