  • Overview

    This position is contingent upon contract award, and customer approval of resume.  The Submarine Radar/EW Technicians in Norfolk, VA will provide technical support in analyzing, verifying, and troubleshooting Radar/EW Systems onboard various classes of submarines.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to

    • Install, monitor, and service Periscope Imaging, BLQ 10, ESM and BPS Radar equipment and systems.
    • Serve as senior/lead technician and assist in the training of other technicians.
    • Perform validations/ verifications of various electronic systems.
    • Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures. Assist with test and evaluation, checkout, certification tasks.
    • Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
    • Plan, schedule, coordinate, execute, monitor, track, and report requirements, resources, tasks, milestones, products, and services required for CWITT support in a programmatic, process-oriented, organized manner. Provide a weekly/monthly CWITT status report input for relevant task orders in a timely manner.
    • Complete assigned action items and provides input to data calls, tasking, funding, cost estimates, etc., for I&EW SME support in a timely manner.
    • Ensure a professional, proactive, and customer-oriented approach to I&EW SME support.
    • Provide effective written and verbal communication and strives for continuous improvement.
    • Review change proposals for equipment impacts. May support engineers in the development of technical proposal and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
    • Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions.
    • Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, trouble-shooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.
    • Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise.
    • Provide technical data and evaluation for components installation, equipment maintenance and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements.
    • Establish and maintain a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:


    • Formal electronics training from a Technical or U.S. Navy "C" school and 3 plus years of job-related experience.
    • Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.
    • Experience in the maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
    • Experience in design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents, and drawings.
    • Travel up to 50-60%
    • Active Secret Security Clearance

    • Preferred candidates will have knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
    • Excellent communications and analytical skills
