Overview

Summary:

The purpose of the Mid-level Logistics Support Specialist position is to integrate various logistics processes within the operational, acquisition environments will provide ILS support to the ILS Lead and the Program Manager. The Mid-level Logistics Support Specialist will provide technical support for logistics, supply chain management and provisioning activities of government owned equipment and material.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Perform all aspects of Submarine Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) of submarine modernization process to include but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
  • Perform inventory management, material coordination, data entry, and property control in support of various supply activities and/or equipment installations.
  • Assist technicians with equipment removal/installations during the submarine modernization process.
  • Create, complete and verify receiving/shipping documentation, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages.
  • Provide logistic deck plate support to removal/installation team leads.
  • Store, stack and palletize heavy, sensitive and controlled government electronic equipment within the mandated safety regulations.
  • Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
  • Perform miscellaneous quality assurance duties including inspections, inventory process checks, inspecting and examining materials, article inspections, etc.
  • Responsible for inventory management of decentralized controlled items, including supplies, and equipment.
  • Generate and submit configuration files in support of submarine modernization process.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum requirements are a High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years of material/supply functions, either in the military services or in commercial applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a government driving permit.
  • Must have familiarity with the following systems: Configuration Data Manager Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA), Navy Data Environment (NDE), Supportability Integrated Logistics Capability (SILC), Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS), Navy Tool for Interoperability and Risk Assessment (NTIRA)
  • Must be familiar with the NAVSEA submarine modernization ILS processes including ILS Certification, Risk Assessment & Waiver, configuration management, supply support/provisioning, ILS product delivery/installation, and RMMCO check-in/check-out requirements.
  • Occasional travel required; must be able to travel up 15%.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior experience related to submarine maintenance and modernization is desirable.
  • Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
  • Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with a wide range of internal and external organizations at multiple levels of management.
  • Candidates must be highly motivated and well organized with strong project management skills.
  • Must be capable of working independently or in a team environment.
