Overview

The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Specialist to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. The GBS Group designs and delivers high technology services and solutions to most advanced naval and maritime ships, as well as to special purpose platforms and assets. Our office is located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which is a dynamic urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally-located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Navy Yard has over 20 acres of parks, one mile of waterfront trail and is located less than one-half mile from the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, as well as the retail/entertainment center Xfinity Live!. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Provide support for the LHD8 and LHA6 ILS efforts at NSWCPD
  • Identify ILS deficiencies which impact industrial repair and shipboard maintenance processes
  • Determine core causes and provide feedback/recommendations to life cycle managers which will initiate resolutions.
  • Address issues concerning configuration problems, parts cataloging errors, deficiencies in technical and supply support documentation (drawings, technical manuals, PMS MRCs, COSAL documents, etc.), part obsolescence issues, stock inadequacies and material identification issues
  • Reviews field support requirements and recommends tool and test equipment.
  • Establishes calibration requirements for field systems/equipment including all maintenance tasks.
  • Performs maintenance and maintainability demonstrations for customers.
  • Reviews handbooks for technical adequacy.
  • Assists in the development of maintenance engineering and logistics support.
  • Plans and contributes to proposal efforts.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

  • Must have 4 years of job specific experience with a high school diploma or 2 years of relevant experience with bachelor’s degree
  • Gas Turbine Systems Technician Electrical (GSE) with training experience
  • Experience with drafting shipboard EOSS/PMS.
  • Experience with developing and reviewing tech manuals, schematic development/redlines, etc.
  • Must be eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Engineer or Gas Turbine Systems Technician Electrical (GSE) with training experience
  • Should be PC literate - e-mail, word processing, spread sheets, databases, and presentation graphics.
  • Should have above average command of the English language, able to communicate technical concepts effectively and express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Experience using CDMD-OA, OARS, TDMIS, WSS Asset Visibility, One Touch Support, and FIMARS a plus.
