Overview

The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm in Virginia Beach, VA, has an opening for a Technical Recruiter at our Virginia office located within 10 miles of the Virginia Beach resort area, or at our Philadelphia, PA office located at the Philadelphia Navy Shipyard Yard with scenic waterfront views, a trail and parks, surrounded by popular retail and entertainment centers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Establish recruiting needs through meetings with hiring managers. Create and implement sourcing strategies for the business units in order to meet current staffing needs and to build a pipeline for future roles.
  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle for all active candidates, including: posting job descriptions, screening resumes, conducting interviews, coordinating and scheduling interviews with clients and initiating hiring process.
  • Create requisitions that accurately reflect the specific job responsibilities, qualifications and education requirements.
  • Create job ads on local, industry related and military job sites as well as other common sites including Indeed, Monster, etc.
  • Source candidates from a variety of networks including online resume databases.  Attend various job fairs thorougout the area.
  • Screen, interview and evaluate candidates for job openings to identify applicants who meet the position requirements and refer them to the hiring manager for consideration.
  • Proactively recruit passive candidates while identifying top-performing professionals and spur relationships for potential future opportunities.
  • Maintain the integrity of the applicant tracking system; applicants are dispositioned according to EEO/OFCCP guidelines; all candidates are dispositioned and contacted appropriately.
  • Develop effective strategies with management to promote jobs to passive job seekers. 
  • Research salary information to ensure offer letters are consistent with industry standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must posess the following professional experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a similar field.
  • Minimum of three (3) year's experience in full lifecycle recruiting.
  • In-depth understanding of EEO/OFCCP laws and regulations. 
  • Must have previous experience with IT, software developer and engineering recruiting.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with software development languages (C++, C#, Java, PHP, .Net, ADA, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Experience using iCIMS Applicant Tracking System.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to interact effectively with applicants, employees and management. 
  • Must be able to interface with a wide range of people, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Ability to forecast future hiring needs based on current business trends. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to take initiative, follow-through and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload and handle multiple assignments in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and leadership skillsr resulting in the ability to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% for hiring events, job fairs, etc.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
